CLUWRR is a multi-disciplinary research centre which provides a focus within the university, for research into Integrated Environmental Management. Our mission is to advance Integrated Environmental Management through:
- Provision of the science base
- Provision of soft and hard system tools
- Promoting the correct institutional linkages
- Testing sustainability ideals and methods for consistency and complementarity's
- Support to the development of management strategies
Interactive Research
- Working with People on Strategic Problems
- One long-term research objective at CLUWRR is acquiring a rich understanding of real water and environmental management in action from the multiple perspectives of key organisations.
- This is why CLUWRR is involved in interactive research with government departments, agencies, industry and stakeholder communities in real strategic problems on water and the environment.
- Interactive research entails working with users and funders from definition of the research agenda to implementation of the research findings using participatory methods and facilitating strategic thinking.
- Problem areas are policy-making and implementation, strategic management, institutional collaboration, knowledge base and information flows.
