geomatics @ newcastle comprises 11 academic staff, 9 research staff, 3 support staff and ~20 research students, forming a key component of the School of Civil Engineering and Geosciences at Newcastle University.

We continually strive to offer the highest quality geomatics BSc degree programmes and short courses to industry and government; to undertake internationally leading quality research and offer first rate training through PhD degree programmes; to engage in knowledge transfer to the public, industry and government.

Our geomatics research follows two main themes:

PhD projects

We offer first rate research training through well planned projects leading to the PhD degree. Funding can be provided (UK residents only) through usually 3 year EPSRC studentships allocated to the School on an annual basis.
