  Commission IISPRS

Our mission

Activities and membership

In order to achieve the goals expressed in its Terms of Reference, the WG is organising concrete activities within its 4-year time plan. Below we list our proposed activities planned up to 2008 and we mark in green activities that have already started and are on-going. This activity plan will be updated and augmented continuously.  Remarks and proposals, including new activities, are welcomed and should be sent to the WG secretary.

In our activities mentioned below we will co-operate with other ISPRS WGs and Technical Commissions, ISPRS National, Regional and Sustaining Members, as well as WGs on education of Sister and other related Societies, and other national and international organisations (e.g. UN, World Bank, Space Agencies, International Space University) involved in education and training.

Planned activities

  1. Website: A dedicated website has been established and linked to the TC I website to support the work of the WG. A database will be developed for serving an on-line record of airborne digital sensor systems.

  2. Circular call for participation: An active approach to encouraging participation in WG activity will be adopted, with a circular invitation to a wide audience early in 2005. This will be followed by regular distribution of circular “newsletter” emails on WG activity.

  3. Planning and progress meetings: A virtual planning meeting for WG officers will be held in April 2005. Further planning, progress and reporting meetings will be held at the proposed workshops/symposia in 2005, 06, 07 and virtual meetings in interim periods.

  4. Distribution of educational material: To encourage WG participation, educational material from an airborne digital sensors meeting held in Newcastle during March 2004, will be circulated to members and potential members (including those in developing countries). This activity will be repeated following other meetings of the WG to facilitate participation.

  5. Liaison with ICWG V/I: To advance progress on UAV platforms, scientific work will be conducted in close collaboration with ICWG V/I.
