background
Jon is Professor of Geomatic Engineering and leads the school's research into photogrammetry and laser scanning. His team develop optimised photogrammetric and laser scanning solutions for mapping, modelling, monitoring and parameterisation of engineering models. He is currently the President of International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) Technical Commission V on close range image measurement techniques, and has previously chaired ISPRS Working Group I/4 on airborne digital sensor systems. Jon's research has been disseminated through the publication of over 100 papers in refereed journals, conference proceedings and professional periodicals. His work has also been extensively highlighted in the international media, which resulted in the industry-wide geomatics.org.uk public engagement programme.
